You saved me $175 for a piano tech to come out and take his time loosening the strings with that socket trick. Thank you
Got an advertisement for learning to play piano at the start of this video lol 😂
😂
I get it 😔 great video
Thanks
For someone who can't afford an acoustic and playing on 61 key Casio... I'm Devastated 😢
Check Facebook Marketplace. In my area there are dozens on there.
@@BurkeMakesStuff in my country it's very rare "Saudi Arabia"
@@NosferatuPsychosis Oh! I understand.
The screenshot at 5:29 is a racist trope. Totally not OK. Anywhere.
I’m not sure what you mean exactly. That’s David Chappell. It’s from his comedy show. Please explain.
@@BurkeMakesStuff Doesn't matter. You are placing the word "CRACK" over top of a picture of a black man. In what reality is that not racist imagery? It doesn't matter that a black man made a joke out of it once in a comedy routine - that doesn't give you permission to propagate a racist trope. Seriously, if you really don't see what's messed up about that, then I don't know what to say to you, except maybe step out of your own white skin for a minute, and ask yourself if a black person saw that in the middle of a woodworking video, would they: A.) get offended, B.) wonder what does that have to do with a woodworking video, or C.) laugh uncontrollably. If you answered C, you aren't stepping out of your own skin - even temporarily. Find a black man. Show them the video. See what they say.
Pro-tip if you have allergies do it outside
I am SO glad I watched this, because I cannot get anyone to take my free piano and was at the point of wanting to bash it down, but when you talked about the dangerous part and knowing I could have slashed my face open WHOA, I am so glad I didn't do this! Thanks for the vid 😊
Oustanding! I’m glad you found it so useful! If you found it valuable, consider buying me a coffee at buymeacoffee.com/BurkeMakesStuff
This is the best best best tutorial so far
Thank you! I hope you find it of value!
Guess what.... there is now a newer model with 2 1/4 inserts on the wheels and I think the plastic is more plyable, the feet no longer screw to the vac bucket they just press on. This makes this design more flimsy overall..... still trying to work through it.
Interesting. I only went with this model because I got it on an outstanding sale back when I got it.
My problem is my 20 gal Rigid vacuum is so old the intake port is on the motor section, and not on the side of the base. Hard plumbing in would make removing the motor/filter section difficult, and there is no way to add a bag. Darn well-built long-lasting Rigid product!
lol!
Great content! I’m a beginner on my wood working journey and I love doing stuff like this
Simple and profitable! Best of luck!
@@BurkeMakesStuff so far made 4 sets. 2 body red mahogany, plugs natural. 2 body golden pecan with red mahogany plugs. Sold each set of 6 for 25$ and they all sold in same day!
@@GrizzlyGoesRawr outstanding! Is that covering your materials cost and labor time? If they sell fast, try raising your price incrimentally! Maximize profits of your work!
Hi
Hi. …?
Suuuch a gorgeous painting
Thank you! Cheers!
Congratulations, you basically did with your filter what happens inside a Rainbow vacuum and the Newcombe bagless before it. In these machines there is a spinning slotted cylinder called a centrifugal separator and in combination with a water bath, the separator keeps the majority of wet dust and dirt from entering the motor and going out the exhaust.
Very cool!
The painting is AMAZING, and the frame is perfect for it, too. Great job on all counts!
Thanks so much!
Me, too, I got it!
Great video. Good instructions and you made me laugh. Cambium lol
Beards and air tight seals just dont get along. Unless you want to wear a fully enclosed breather, either shave, put Vaseline or it is what it is.
Truth
lol... next time just use water... and do the cleaning somewhere outside
Have an old, needed to go to the graveyard piano that no one wanted and I was wondering how hard it would be to dismantle it. This video is great. Looks like I’ve found my summer project to tackle!
Outstanding! Keep us posted!
I get it.
Phenomenal!!! I've been trying to give a piano away for 2 years. NO ONE WANTS THEM. Thank YOU!
@@dianesmith339 how did it end up going? Did you get to take it apart? I hope the video was valuable to your efforts.
Have you tried the Dustopper?
So I’m wondering what you made from the parts. If you made the sculpture, can you post a link here? I can’t find it.
8:35 Absolutely brilliant. I'm borrowing that one. Thank you.
Salt is good to have in the shop, along with lime. edit: My bottle opener is hanging on the side of my drill press cabinet, beside my chuck key. Gotta have pops in the shop. Of course, not when you're working with power tools. Only for clean up.
Hello, music police? I'd like to report a crime.
At this point, musically , I’d be a cereal killer.
@BurkeMakesStuff Me too. Every morning. I'm actually in the process of restoring a 124yo. Baldwin B252 Concert Upright. It's quite the investment, but for my life and family, I believe it's worth it.
@@SamlSchulze1104 awesome!
Totally get it ! Great video, thank you 👍🏼
So sad
This video was perfect! It guided me through the whole process and when I was unsure, I emailed you and you responded assuring me that the strings wouldn't snap back at me when loosening them. Everything went so smoothly and I really appreciated it!
I’m so glad!!! If you found it so valuable, consider buying me a coffee! buymeacoffee.com/BurkeMakesStuff
3:43 My aunt has this EXACT piano at her house. It's a really nice instrument to play, shame this one had to go though.
Agreed
4 year old video, so not sure if you’ll see this comment; But at 4:15 you mentioned you’d be using that hammer assembly for an art piece. I’m about to disassemble a 1940s-era Story & Clark spinet that’s no longer tunable and would love to find a way to preserve and display elements of the piano. (It was my mom’s as a child, and the one I learned on between the ages of 6 and 18, so it has sentimental value. I just don’t want to move it anymore. )
Yup. I follow all the comments on my videos…. Mostly. lol. Yes. I have many ideas for the innards. Though I haven’t done it yet, my favorite is the idea of making/buying a clear acrylic coffee table that is large enough to fit all the hammer mechanisms and display it that way.
Thanks a ton! I searched “cheap and easy diy sound booth” and this came up. But not after an ad for a very expensive 6 person sound proof booth. At least the algorithm brought me to this video because I need to start recording my audiobook this weekend. Thanks again!!
Yeah the algorithm is a mysterious beast. Glad this was helpful. One change I have upgraded is to contain it in a plastic bin with a lid, that way when I’m done it’s much easier to store away.
Perfect, just i was waiting for
Glad you found it helpful!
Awesome! thanks for sharing your tips and craftsmanship. Your video is an inspiration so I cannot wait to try this myself with a cheap but beautiful canvas my wife bought a few days ago.
Awesome! Thank you!
That fan hack will be getting done today. 👍🏻
great for airflow!
Should have put some tape on the strings when taking them off. That would have saved your ears.
Good call!
I get it!
Thanks so much for this video Sadly im not talented to paint my own but i found someone does amazing paintings and i just purchased two 32x48 inch paitings and was trying figure out best way go about framing them ill be trying this method thanks!
Outstanding!
What wood are you using?
That's good advice for those who need to clean the filter and although it's not cheap, I have continually used bags for my vac. I don't have to remove and clean my filter and I don't have to worry about any dust because everything is contained in the bag. Alot less time involved changing bags compared to cleaning the filter
I’m a 71 year old female destructing a piano right now- I learned so much- thanks!!
